Ben Bortner, CFA
Founder and Chief Executive Officer 

Ben is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of GreenWorks Landscape Partners. He founded GreenWorks with the vision of building the leading full-service landscaping company in the Southeast by partnering with local owner-operators. GreenWorks seeks to provide its operating partners with full back office support for things like payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, information technology, and marketing so that they can focus on customer service and production. 

Prior to founding GreenWorks, Ben was an executive at Pool Troopers, which he joined through their acquisition of The Pool Man of Key West. Ben was the Owner and President of The Pool Man of Key West from November 2019 through July 2022. During his tenure at the company, Ben improved the company’s systems; streamlined its processes and procedures; completed and successfully integrated multiple add-on acquisitions; and grew sales organically by more than 50%. Under Ben’s leadership, The Pool Man of Key West became the largest and highest-rated pool service company in the Florida Keys. 

Ben graduated magna cum laude from Western Washington University with degrees in Business Administration – Finance and Accounting. Ben is also a CFA Charterholder. He lives in Key West, Florida with his wife, Katie, and in his free time enjoys being on the water and fly fishing for various inshore saltwater flats species.
